(Un)Trustworthy Text Labels in the Museum
Dan Wilcox

This talks presents the AI-based intervention »Flatware, Hardware, Software, Wetware« (2024) by the Hertzlab, ZKM Karlsruhe’s own department of artistic research. Through the usage of AI, we are constantly challenged to find new individual interpretations of classic »flatware«, artworks drawn for the ZKM Collection. The supposedly true description of a work shown in a smart text label is actually tongue-in-cheek AI disinformation that invites us to make our own interpretation on the institution itself.
